Healing Meditation 1
Healing meditation begins with a simple intention: to sit quietly, soften the rush of the day, and create a kind inner atmosphere. This page offers a gentle meditation practice for people who want a peaceful way to reflect, breathe, and encourage more loving thoughts toward themselves and others.
Find a comfortable place where you can sit without being disturbed for a few minutes. Let your shoulders relax. Allow your hands to rest lightly. There is no need to force concentration or try to empty the mind. Meditation is often easier when we begin with acceptance. If thoughts come, notice them gently and return to the feeling of peace.
Take a slow breath in and imagine that you are drawing in calm, clear light. As you breathe out, imagine tension leaving the body. Repeat this a few times. You may like to silently say, “I am peaceful. I am steady. I am learning to respond with kindness.” These words are not magic; they are a quiet way of training attention and choosing the quality of thoughts you want to practise.
Now bring your awareness to the centre of the chest. Imagine a small point of warm light there, like a candle protected from the wind. With every breath, allow that light to become softer and brighter. Let it represent your patience, compassion, and inner strength. You do not need to analyse anything. Simply sit with the image of a calm light within you.
If you are carrying worry, disappointment or heaviness, place it gently before the light. Do not fight it. Just observe it from a peaceful distance. You might say inwardly, “This feeling is here, but it is not all of me.” This small space between you and the feeling can be deeply useful. It allows a person to pause, reflect, and choose a more peaceful next thought.
When you are ready, imagine this inner light spreading through the mind, the face, the shoulders, the arms and the whole body. Let the meditation finish with gratitude for one peaceful moment. Even a few minutes of sincere practice can become a helpful daily habit.
You can return to this healing meditation whenever you want to reset your thoughts, practise gentleness, or begin again with a quieter mind.
