Healing Meditation 2

Healing Meditation 2 continues the simple practice of using peaceful thought, breath and visualisation to create a calmer inner state. It is designed as a gentle reflection, especially for moments when the mind feels crowded, tired or pulled in many directions.

Begin by sitting comfortably. Let the body be upright but not stiff. Close your eyes if that feels comfortable, or lower your gaze. Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing. There is nothing to achieve. The first step is simply to arrive in the present moment.

Imagine a clear sky above you. The sky is wide, quiet and full of space. Thoughts may pass through the mind like clouds, but the sky itself remains open. Let this image remind you that the mind can observe thoughts without needing to chase every one of them. A peaceful observer is already within you.

Now picture a stream of soft light gently flowing down from above the head. Let it move through the forehead, the eyes, the jaw and the throat. With each breath, imagine the light bringing ease and clarity. If you notice tightness in the body, do not judge it. Simply breathe and allow the area to soften as much as it can.

Bring to mind one quality you would like to practise today. It might be patience, forgiveness, courage, kindness, steadiness or hope. Hold that word quietly in the mind. Breathe in with the word. Breathe out and let the quality settle into your thoughts. This is a practical form of meditation: choosing the quality of your inner language and returning to it again and again.

If someone has troubled you, imagine sending them peace without needing to approve of their actions. This is not weakness. It is a way of freeing your own mind from constant reaction. You can hold healthy boundaries and still choose not to fill your mind with bitterness.

Finish by placing both feet gently on the floor and taking three slow breaths. Notice the room around you. Carry one peaceful sentence with you into the next part of the day: “I can pause, breathe and choose a better thought.”

This meditation can be practised in the morning, before sleep, or during a quiet break. The power is in regular, gentle repetition.
